The poolrooms

This was my first ever 3D model, it took around 2 months in order to be made

My first 3D model

On July 2, 2022, I decided to open Blender and start working on my first "big" project. I would have started learning a bit of Blender a few months before (special thanks to Blender Guru, go check his videos on YouTube); so I saw this little project as a test for my knowledge and skills.

Of course, my skills were rather flawed, and the thing I did was pretty much simple and low quality, nevertheless, I did it anyway and I felt really proud of it.

Very low quality model

This was the first snapshot I took from the actual progress of the render. The reason for it to be so sketchy is because I was facing my first big problem; I had a texture for the whole place, which was just some blue tiles, but they would strech and make it look very bad. I took this one shot to ask for help, then I took this next one when it was solved:

Low quality model

As you can see, this render is took from the position of the final one, there's now a roof and there is some water too besides from some reflections on the floor. However, there are some errors in this snapshot and I was struggling to solve them.

I can't remember exactly how I solved them, I believe I wasn't even sure what I was doing but, at the end, I managed to fix it anyways.

Better quality model

I kept showing my progress to the Blender Discord server and they gave me some advice and ideas of how to finish it. They wanted me to make it something bigger but, of course, my laptop isn't that powerful and this little model was already making it overheat and freeze.

After a long hard work, I finished it and I was very proud of my work.

Final render

I plan to some day remaster it now that I have better skills than before.
